The project Re-imagining the use of traditional watercraft in the Aegean Sea for a sustainable environment and economy at the University of Helsinki in collaboration with the Fundación Anfibia Colombia will host a one-day online symposium that aims at bringing together early career researchers working on projects that link maritime archaeology and climate change. The symposium will be hosted on Zoom. We would like to encourage postgraduate students and early career academics to apply!
Topics could include but are not limited to:
- Intangible maritime heritage, maritime identities and coastal adaptations
- Local, traditional and indigenous knowledge of coastal and island populations
- Past adaptations on climate change by maritime societies, coastal or island communities
- Impacts of climate change effects on coastal and underwater cultural heritage assets
