Welcome to the new NABO website, which has been built over the last year thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation as part of the RESPONSE project. The aim was to create an online resource that contains much more information about the NABO community in a responsive, interactive website which enables contributions to be made directly by the people doing the research. In particular, we will be hosting lots of information about the RESPONSE project. This include blogs such as this, more details on NABO-related publications, ongoing projects, conferences, postgraduate research, job and research degree opportunities, as well as the revised NABO Project Management system. As the website launches, we will continue to improve it and work with the community to iron out any problems.
Much of the work on designing and creating this WordPress site has been undertaken by Annabel Treshansky, for which I am very grateful and really appreciate all of her hard work. Her depth of understanding about how to design and build what is a complex website has been essential and I’d also like to thank Eduardo Serafin for allowing her to work on this project. Louis Kinnear who has overseen the transfer of the NABO Project Management system from the original Oracle database system to the new PostgreSQL one and has rewritten all the code that searches the database and displays the results and integrates with WordPress. Thanks Louis! Help and advice from Chris Hill with many database issues is also really appreciated.
We hope that you find the new NABO website a useful resource and please sign up to a be a blogger and tell the world about your research and let us know if you would like to contribute to the upkeep of the site.
