Report on Vígðalaug (Consecrated Pool) in Laugardalur
In the year 2000 Icelanders celebrated 1000 years of christianity. This raised interest in historical sites linked to the christianization, including Vígðalaug (Consecrated Pool) in Laugardalur, a natural hot pool with stonebuilt sides. According to Kristni saga this was the place where people from the south were babtized after the Christianization on their way home from Alþingi in the year 1000.
