Fornleifakönnun í landi Högnastaða á Flúðum í Hrunamannahreppi Trenches were dug in Högnastaðir, Flúðir, prior to construction plans. 10 trenches were machine-excavated out of which six revealed cultural layers. Three trenches revealed possibe structures, most likely outhouses of some sort, dated to the early 16th to the 20th centuries - the youngest structure still visible on the surface. One trench contained cultural layers down to a depth of 1,5 m, all later than tephra from 1389 AD.
